About Conquest House Antiques
Conquest House is a beautiful treasure house with a wide variety of
antiques for every pocket. The stock age range is from Georgian,
Victorian, Edwardian to Early Twentieth Century, and is comprised of
furniture, paintings, chandeliers, porcelain, brass and bronze, linen,
glass and silverware.
We have been the custodians of this historically important house since
1984, we spent the next two years carrying out extensive restoration
under the watchful eye of Canterbury Conservation Department. We
opened the shop in the summer of 1986 and have been successfully
trading ever since.
Desmond Magee and Caroline Hill have been partners for more than
twenty years and run different aspects of the business. Des buys the
stock, runs the trade warehouse and workshops based just outside
Canterbury, under the banner of Empire Antiques,
whilst Caroline runs the shop and office Conquest House
Antiques situated in Palace Street in central Canterbury.
