In the following Terms and Conditions:
  • 'We' means 'Conquest House Antiques'
  • 'You' means the customer/purchaser

Use of the Site

By using this site you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Transaction Security

When taking credit card details online we use 128-bit SSL Secure Sockets Layer to keep your information safe. SSL is the industry standard internet security protocol designed to allow the transmission of sensitive private information across the internet completely securely. It does this by encrypting the information at the computer where the information is entered the customer's computer and only decrypting it again at the server end our computers. In this way you can be sure that the information you enter will remain unread by anyone in the middle, even in the extremely unlikely event they were able to intercept it in its encrypted form.

Data Protection

All information we receive in the course of online transaction processing is protected in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1984, and we have extremely strong security measures in place to prevent the loss or misuse of any such information under our control. We do not keep your credit card number beyond the completion of any transaction, and your details will not be passed to any third parties.

General

An order for goods placed by you, the buyer, through our website shall be subject to these terms and conditions. Conquest House Antiques sells vintage / antique merchandise and as such is considered "used", minor wear/signs of usage should be expected. Any exceptional condition(s) will always be noted and more detailed photographs and condition reports are available upon request. If you want a better photo, or a different angle shot, we will do our best to oblige you.

Authentication and Condition

Our staff have a vast wealth of experience in the antiques trade and we are confident that our estimates of item dates or periods are as accurate as can be determined by a normal, standard visual inspection. However, our estimates are for guidance only and we can accept no responsibility for any loss or damages caused by items sold in good faith later turning out to be older or newer than estimated. Please note that this has never happened in all our 20 years of trading. Nothing stated or implied in these terms and conditions shall affect the statutory rights of any customer.

Your Warranty to us

You, warrant that all the details provided on the order form for the purpose of purchasing the goods are correct, that the credit card you are using is your own and that there are sufficient funds and/or that sufficient unused limit is available to cover the cost of the goods.

Our Warranty to you

The details you supply will be stored on computer and used by Conquest House Antiques Ltd. to service your purchase. We may also use your contact details to provide details of future events; company newsletters and other information relating to the sale of our antique products. You can choose whether you want to receive further information.

Orders

All orders for goods shall be deemed to be an offer by you to purchase goods in accordance with these terms and conditions.

You, the buyer, are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the details provided and we will not be obliged to accept an order unless all requested details requested on the order form have been correctly entered.

Upon receipt of an order we will advise you by E-mail of the availability of the items ordered and the cost of shipping. You may cancel your order prior to dispatch without any penalty should these costs be unacceptAll goods offered for sale through our website are priced in Pounds Sterling (£).

Customs & import duties are not included. The customer is responsible for payment of any surcharges.

We accept payment by cash, cheque (drawn on a major UK bank) in Pounds Sterling (£) and we accept most major credit & debit cards, cheques, and bank transfers. If you prefer, you may also supply us with your credit card information by telephone to +44 1227 464587 or by fax. to +44 1227 451375.

Personal and business cheques must clear before shipping (5-7 working days).

Prices do not include postage and packing which will be charged as an additional cost on all orders that are placed.

If an order is received by us from an area not normally served by our Carriers, we will contact you before accepting your order for specific arrangements to be made.

Title to the goods will pass to you, the buyer, on payment in full of the price of the goods.

Dispatch and Delivery

All orders will normally be dispatched within 2 working days. All deliveries are insured. UK deliveries are only available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, unless by prior arrangement.

If any delay occurs you will be notified immediately. You will be given the option to arrange a convenient delivery date or to cancel the order with a full refund.

We use several shipping companies who are specialists in the packaging, crating and shipment of large and fragile antiques. They offer a full shipping service, and take care of customs, insurance, delivery and client notifications. Extremely experienced in the international shipping business, they all have given highly satisfactory service, and come with our recommendation. However, we can ship with any company specified by the client.

Please advise us if you do not receive your item(s) within 7 days of placing your order so that we can trace the item. Ask via our contact form quoting your order number.

Please note that all delivery charges are shown on your order form. The goods will be delivered to you, the buyer, at the delivery address provided by you on the order form. All delivery times and dates must be confirmed, as antiques require the purchaser or their agent to be present for delivery, we do not deliver if you are out, nor do we leave items with a neighbour or another address, unless by prior arrangement, nor can they be left outside. Thank you for complying with these terms as they are for your benefit.

We will advise you if the delay in shipping will exceed 7 days. Items sent by courier are usually collected within two working days and delivered in the UK within another two working days. When shipping overseas, we will advise of an expected delivery date.

All shipping / delivery charges are shown on your order form prior to you committing to your purchase.

The risk in the goods shall pass to you upon delivery taking place. Any dates quoted for delivery of the goods are approximate only and we shall not be liable for any delay in delivery of the goods however caused or for any consequential loss.

Returns

All items are carefully checked before dispatch. Occasionally items may arrive damaged, defective and we will make every effort to rectify this situation.

We will do our best to ensure that you are fully satisfied with your purchase.

If the goods are damaged in-transit, please sign the carriers delivery note `Damaged' and notify us within 3 days of the date on which the consignment was signed for. Keep all the packaging material as the Carrier may wish to inspect this. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Goods that are not acceptable for any other reason may be returned within 10 days for a refund or replacement, but in all cases you must contact us first for authorisation. An authorisation reference will be given. Goods returned which are not defective or faulty will be subject to a 20% re-stocking charge. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Law and Jurisdiction

The contract shall be deemed to be made in England. All Contracts made between Conquest House Antiques and the Customer shall be governed by the laws of England and any dispute arising therein shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of the English courts.

Our Website

We will attempt to ensure that the information available on the website at any time is accurate. However, we will not be held liable for any errors or omissions. We will endeavour to correct errors and omissions as quickly as practicable after becoming aware or being notified of these.

Whilst we attempt to be as accurate as possible with the specifications of the antiques we sell, we cannot be held responsible for any inaccuracies.

New images are constantly being added to our website. Conquest House Antiques has the ability to source most antiques available today, so please use our contact form and let us know what you're looking for.

Copyright for the images shown on our website remains with the Artist, Publisher or Owner of the Original piece and further distribution of the images in whatever format may be the subject of Legal proceedings.

Queries and Complaints

Conquest House Antiques endeavour to handle all enquiries and fulfill all orders speedily, effectively and without incident, it is not possible to guarantee there will never be a problem. Should you have any complaints about our products or services, we would request that these be put in writing and sent either via e-mail via our contact form or by post to the following address:
